[SOLVED] Metadata on "Master Source" not showing

    Is there a way to set custom metadata while using "Master Source" ?

    When I'm connected, I can hear sound of my test device (winamp with oddcast plugin) but Metadata wont refresh in icecast.

    It wasn't working because I had nothing scheduled and because i've modified liquidsoap script to play random songs from a folder when schedule is offline : it mess things up.

    Good to hear you fixed your problem. I think that whatever metadata is passed in to "Master Source" is forwarded on to icecast.

    Yep I've tested, that's how it works.

    I'm using traktor to mix live. Traktor sends
    Metadata of current track being played in virtual decks, I'll search how to force some metadata to promote the DJ show instead. I know it can be done thru Icecast admin panel, but I'd prefer to handle that thru Airtime instead. It would be nice if there was a tick box in events settings that would update metadata with current event / show name in Airtime's calendar via liquidsoap's script. :)

    Hi Kahuitel,

    To put the show name from the calendar into the output stream metadata, see the radio buttons in the Stream Settings page, like in this screenshot:

    So the streaming source client (Traktor in your case) does not need to know the show name, and only needs to know the DJ's stream login name. It would be ideal to be able to combine the show or DJ's real name (which Airtime knows) with the currently playing track title/creator (which only the streaming source client knows).

    I could not get stream metadata to pass through from Mixxx > Airtime > Liquidsoap > Icecast but if you have this working with Traktor then perhaps sending metadata in Mixxx is not compatible with Airtime. I opened a ticket for this: http://dev.sourcefabric.org/browse/CC-3967 and will compare with Mixxx > Icecast.
