Wasn't sure where to put this, but I saw this pop up this morning on a blog I read and since I quick-look monitoring this seemed worth passing on...

be careful ! on github you can find the 1.4b version (still in beta) the last stable is 1.3.7

you can download it for ubuntu 10.4 / 12.04 :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:arnaud-hartmann/glances-stable

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install glances

I recommend using standard system tools: iotop, atop, htop
atop shows the same as glances and more.

just sudo apt-get install atop iotop htop

that's really not the sam thing ...
and with glances 1.4 html generation are possible (it's still in beta stage, but it's really efficient
