Airtime 2.0 is out today and it couldn’t have happened without you, the amazing Airtime community!
Update: we caught a last minute bug. Please stay tuned for announcements...
The focus of this release was to reduce the time and effort station managers and DJs spent on behind-the-scenes work, and thanks to your feedback we’ve been able to integrate many tasks into the Airtime interface. Configuring Icecast and SHOUTcast streams is just one of those things. We’ve also improved calendars, playlists and the Media Monitor in order to make everything that little bit easier and more intuitive.
A full changelog is forthcoming, I'll post here when it's ready!
Thanks once more and to the amazing Airtime dev team. 2.0 is a great release!
Best, Adam
(p.s. last week we officially launched Airtime Pro, our hosted version of the software. It aims to make things easier still by taking care of installation, set-up, upgrades, security updates, server maintenance and worldwide technical support. There’s a month’s free trial on offer over at sourcefabric.com.)
The fix should be a relatively simple one, but we need to test thoroughly and repackage, so we'll release officially tomorrow around 1400h GMT.
It's always difficult to catch a bug like this at the last minute, but given how strange and rare it was, we were lucky to do so. And, as I said earlier, much better to catch it before it affected anyone's installs.
Thanks once more for your support, you guys and girls are all great.
We've isolated the issue. It was in the upgrade script and affected stations with shows longer than 24 hours long. That's a pretty rare user case, but an issue nonetheless so of course we have to fix the problem and then do our usual testing and packaging process...
I'll have an idea of how long this should take in the next hour or so. :)
