... with urls longer than 80 characters?
I think we all know that if we want to add an external link in article it could not exced 80 caracters. But why? Most of urls in campsite driven sites are longer than 100 caracters, so if we need to link to article on the other campsite driven site it cant be done.
Please if there is a solution for this i would like to know.
thanks,
Vladan

I do not know about the other campsites, but all these links should be
done through internal link and not external one.
1) Link will work even if you change your domain
2) If you move article with special tool the links inside other articles
will not loose target
I know there was such an issue about limiting the length of text fields
and it wass usually connected to UTF-8 problem, or something like this.
I saw you use 2.1.4 version and I can upgrade campsite to latest version
(as far as I know 2.1.5 is out) or if 2.1.6 will be soon (I saw release
candidate somewhere) we can wait for that version.
I understand about internal links, i use them only as exapmle, but there is
other sites (not campsite) that have urls longer than 80 characters and
thats causing problems.
However, if you think that latest version of campsite will allow longer urls
fell free to upgrade, if not dont waste your time.
thanks,
vladan

It seems that the problem is with your version of campsite: the latest campsite
supports URLs with more than 80 characters. Unfortunatelly I don't have the
root password for your hosting server and I couldn't upgrade campsite. So
Michal will have to do this, hope he reads this email
Also, I found other problems with your templates (articleContentGost.tpl,
articleContentLogin.tpl). "With" statement was not used correctly; the syntax
is:
With
EndWith
It is used for displaying subtitles in articles (see http://www.tol.cz for
example)
The correct use of this statement was:
where dugacaktext is an article type and teloteksta is a field in that article
type (see attached screenshot).
There was another missing template drugipisu.tpl in the english version and I
copied it from the main publication.

Mugur

Hi guys,
i really appreciate your help on this.
Mugur you're right about templates in my publications, they are full of
missused statements, probably syntax error and other things, and I know all
that. Thing is that i have other tasks to do in printed publication and i
dont have much time to corect all these things..anyway all publications
online are functional and there are no major problems with them (except
these i posted here).
I dont know what to say...i realise that corecting my templates isn't your
job...thanks a lot for that.
Ondra, please drop me a line when you're finished with upgrade.
thanks,
Vladan

Mugur can you respond quickly or give me your icq# or msn contact to discuss
some things?
After your changes in articlecontentGost.tpl and articlecontentLogin.tpl
article types vest and krataktext are not displayed at all on my
publications. Its very important to me because vest means news and we have
some important news to publish on our site.
I tried to figure what is wrong but without results.
thanks,
Vladan

Hi Mugur,
I've deleted 'with' statement from these templates and it seems to be ok
now. hmmm?
Do you know what could be the problem with 'with' statement? maybe because
we dont have any subtitles in articles? don't know.
Thanks,
Vladan

Well, actually you shouldn't have used the "with" statement in the template
because you don't have article subtitles.
What happened: you tried to print different article types in the same "with"
statement, but it can be used for one article type and one field only. So you
must match "with" article type/field with print article type/field, otherwise
it won't work. Before I corrected the error "with" statement was discarded so
all the article types could be printed (no subtitles). After I corrected the
error "with" statement started to work so only article of type dugacaktext were
displayed correctly.
Sorry for this, I should have checked all the template and correct everything.

Mugur
