Re: [campsite-support] Change of design
  • Dear Armando,

To achieve that, all you need to do is select the newly designed templates
for the new issue. And leave the old issues in peace.

BTW, do you know that we now have a Lista hispana de Campware.org
    (http://lists.campware.org/mailman/listinfo/campware-es)?

    All the best,

    Sava

    Dear all,

We are planning a change of design, and were wondering what would be the
best way of keeping the appearance of current issues for the archive.

    Thanks for your help,

    Armando

  • Dear Sava,

Thanks for your reply (the 'send replies to this thread to me via email' option didn't seem to work!). I've seen too many skinable interfaces... However, the archive pagination is showing a surprising effect: when you enter the 'old times', you get back to the old design.

    All the best,

    Armando

PS As for the Spanish list, I would applaud your efforts in a different context. I think we should stick to Internet's "lingua franca", at least for technical issues!
  • Dear Armando,

I don't understand what do you mean by the "old times"? Do you mean, once
you go the archive, you see the old design, and then when you go back to
the current issue, you still see the old design? Can you provide more
    detail?

And BTW, Holman Romero, a core Campsite developer is at the Lista hispana,
and so are some very capable web developers from Guatemala and elsewhere.
So don't underestimate the power of el idioma. Smile

    Sava

    If you write:

    Next

URLParameters will send you to an older issue, not the current one with updated start/end references, so the layout in the following page will be the old one. It makes time travel more realistic, though.

    Best regards,

I fully endorse Campsite 'parallel view' of languages. Unfortunately, lists don't usually work that way.

  • Follow up: URL Parameters does include the template number, so everything is fine, except for the time-travelling...
