Soundcloud Upload Options?
  • I thought I'd repost this as the mailing list seems to be more active.

    Dear All,

I'm experimenting with the Soundcloud uploading function and I'm trying to
find out the default options that it is applying to each track (programme).

The level of options on Soundcloud are rather limited and by default
uploaded tracks shouldn't be available for download but in the case of the
programmes uploaded by Airtime they are. Is it possible to edit this
    behaviour?

    cheers,

    Chris

  • Hi Chris,

Glad to hear everything running smoothly. As for your Soundcloud request, there is no way to alter that behaviour in the current version of Airtime.

I've created a ticket to address this in the future:

    http://dev.sourcefabric.org/browse/CC-2795
    Airtime Pro Hosting: http://airtime.pro
  • the default option for uploaded Airtime files currently should be a "private" file upload. Is this what your upload is marked as? They shouldn't be public...
  • Hi Martin,

Thanks. So just to confirm anything uploaded via Airtime will have the
download flag set to Yes? That's a shame as Soundcloud doesn't really want
us making copyrighted material available for download.

I'll contact Soundcloud and ask if it's possible set everything at their
    end.

    - Chris

  • Chris,

Naomi is the developer of this feature. If she says the uploads should be private by default, then perhaps we have a bug.

Will get back to you on this.

  • They are marked as private (requiring you to log in and change to public
with you want people to see them) but you seem to be only able to set the
Download flag when you initially upload.

  • I've tested this feature and it always uploaded the files set to private.

Chris, did this start to appear lately or was it like that for you since the beginning?
  • ohh ok.

Yes Chris. The original feature description were to set this value "private" as static.

    hi Chris,

Soundcloud allows to set downlaad flag to false or true. This flag is missed in airtime. I've changed ticket: http://dev.sourcefabric.org/browse/CC-2795
  • Great.That's exactly what's needed.
