1.8.2-RC not recording all shows
  • Hi there,

After recently installing 1.8.2 RC, we had 9 shows scheduled to be recorded yesterday but only 4 were recorded. The browser says the show is recording and has a red light to indicate this, but there are no files in /var/tmp/airtime/show-recorder (only the 4 that did record).

any idea what could be going on?

we've also had trouble playing out prerecorded files (but most of the shows are live so we can work around this as we are mainly using airtime just for archiving and uploading to soundcloud)

    thanks

    James

    Hi James,
Can you validate if you were updating those non-recorded shows after creation?
  • Ok, I installed Airtime 1.8.2-RC2 on another machine (AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2400+, 1.5GB RAM running Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS) and am currently testing the recording of live shows. So far so good (3 out 3 shows recorded).

However, there is no output at all from prerecorded shows. Icecast does not see the stream, there's no ON AIR light, and there's no audio from the soundcard.

    Quote:

The prerecorded shows were just created in the calendar and then a playlist of material was added - there was no further updating of the show (is this what you mean?)

Here's the output from sudo airtime-check-system:

    Hi James -
Thanks to your error report we managed to find a case when a show is not
recorded: changing the details of the recorded show 1 minute before it
starts. We are working to fix this for the 1.8.2 release.

As far as the error below, it looks like your liquidsoap keeps restarting.
Can you please send the log files:
    /var/log/airtime/pypo-liquidsoap/main/current

    and

    /var/log/airtime/pypo/main/current

Looks like your ALSA isnt working on that computer. Do you have a sound
card in it? If not, I then I'm guessing you dont care about outputting to
the hardware. In that case, see the section on "Configuring Liquidsoap" on
    this page in the manual:

  • Hi Paul,

I do have a sound card and it's working fine with Firefox/VLC/mplayer, etc so I think my ALSA is working fine too. This is what I get when I run mplayer from the command line (and of course I hear the output):
