I am new to campsite, installed an instance on Centos 4.2 and everything seems to work well.
But whenever we restsrt our apache server, we find campsite_server listenting to port http, https and 2002. The furst two conflict with our existing apache server installation.
I understood that the campsite_server listens on port 2001+ for template puproses, but why is it also on the default ports?
Currently the only way to get things to work is to kill the campsite_server process, start apache, and let campsite_server start by itself. Byt the moment we restart the apache server it takes over again!
I looked for config information in docs and by grepping around and did not have any luck. Can someone point me in the right direction?
The campsite_server does not listen by default on http and https ports. Because of some bug I
couldn't find when you stop apache campsite_server binds on http and https too. It would take a
long time to track that bug and it doesn't worth it anyway since we're going to drop the C++ based
template engine and replace it with Smarty (PHP) based engine.
For now just remember to stop campsite_server when you stop apache.

I think smarty will be a good option as well. We use it in other projects and serves us well. Do you invision a smooth transition between the two templating engines??

As with other Campsite versions the upgrade will be completely transparent, you won't have to do
anything else but to run the upgrade command. The template language will change, we will use the
Smarty syntax, but again, your templates will be changed automatically by the upgrade script.
