I'm wondering if I can use the line input on my Airtime machine for something other then Airtime, while Airtime is also running?
Basically what I want to do is - use Airtime for all the pre-recorded content and run butt along side it to encode our live input and stream to icecast.
That way my icecast server would have 2 mountpoints
1 - live show line input
2 - pre-rec (Airtime) show
I only had time to quickly test earlier but unfortunately I wasn't seeing any input. Cabling is correct etc. Most likely a BUTT issue. Can ALSA handle two apps simultaneously?
Thanks in advance
J
Also what about JACK and Airtime will this happen in future releases?
The only time Airtime reads from the line-in is when a "recorded" show is set. All other times you can do whatever you want with the line-in.
As for JACK, I am only a developer, so I cant comment on when this will happen but I do know we have discussed JACK support. If you create a ticket on dev.sourcefabric.org it will help us fit it into a future release.
