Image Types
  • On my site I have varying sizes images that for each article for for various locations. If it is a new story for that category, an image appears on the front page which is 600 x 280. Once it becomes second or greater, a 100 x 100 picture is shown with the intro. Viewing the main article, the photographs are 250 x ?

One section of my site the pictures are 190 x 80 (uhm, at least I think so).

Right now I have to name my images 1-9, 100, 190, 250 and 600. There are times I forget the size constraints and/or I forget what goes where.

Could we create "image types" where instead of calling my image 1, I could select "Article Image" or "Front Page Main Image" or "Front Page Teaser Image", etc. On the image upload page a description could be shown regarding what the image is used for and what size this image should be.

    Just a thought.

    Yes, I have a blog!

  • Dear Becky, Lee ... and Bella :)

We will do a reimplementation of the multimedia support in 3.5, which will
allow you to also name these attachments - whether they are images, video
    etc.:
    http://dev.sourcefabric.org/browse/CS-1903

3.4 will be released at the end of June, after that we will concentrate on
3.5. Until then it doesn't make sense to write code that will be discarded
when we implement the 3.5 feature.

So we will have this feature, hope the wait won't be too long :)

  • Thank you for your feedback. Becky and I are patient and are simply enjoying the hard work you have already put in to Campsite. We have received many compliments on our blog. I will admit though I am anxious to see the new updates.

Bella, on the other hand, is rather impatient and wants to see version 3.5 now. I'll work hard to keep her calm until that day arrives.

Thanks again for the fine work.

    Hi,

Here is how Campcaster web UI handles multiple filters in the Library search
screen. We need to have something similar in the Campsite universal list.

    All the best,

    Sava

  • That's a good approach, simple and easy to use. Let's wait for
Vladimir to come back from holidays.

  • Ok, this is helpful. I'll make a design proposal based on this approach.
