RE: Re: [campcaster-support] Problem duringinstallation
  • Hi Mike,

you can try to override this dependencys using the --force-depends option
for dpkg. I am not sure if it works, but give it a try.

Please install all packages campcaster would need in version which
    available. Than run

    dpkg --force-depends install campcaster-station_1.3.0-1_i386.deb

    Best,
    Sebastian

  • Hi all,

--force-depends might work, but it sounds a bit fishy. It will
confuse your package manager, with who knows what kind of
    consequences.

A clean way is to install from the tarballs (download from here:
    http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=136949&package_id=212099,
    instructions here:
    http://campcaster-doc.campware.org/installUbuntu.html). This does
have the drawback that the software will be harder to remove, though.

Or you can wait for Doug to build a package for intrepid (or jaunty,
    or kooky, or larky...)

    Regards,
    Ferenc

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your support.

I Give up, in this moment to use Ubuntu 8.10 and return to UBUNTU 8.04.
Now I understand how it works the dependencies on linux.
After a few tests i'll install all the dependencies and the programs (I think) are working.

Now I'm using the videos to learn to work with the program and search the forums for answers to my questions.

    Hopping to find answers.

    Regards,

    Mike
