Power Users know the Calendar/Scheduler has issues. Want to help fix it?
Hmm watched folders are not really watched any more - one has to manually update them now. Maybe I forget to do that. Watching a watched folder is surely a prime requiset? The note from the responsible dev said 'Not necessary and uses to much r…

Yes I had thought that. But why, if you add the same file to 3 different shows with different jingles, in sucession, does one get different times and the last few seconds of the podcast chopped off? I think its rounding errors

Alex - thats pretty much the same as the show table in Airtime - except its in a database not a file. Airtime keeps calculating different track length times for the same track. A few seconds here or there. Why?. I am getting more and more convinced …

The calendar CHANGES the track length when it is saved to a new show, quite often. Usually to a couple of seconds longer. Is this a clue? Or some mechanism to compensate for fades?

I have set every clock in the system to UTC. I add the user's time zone to this in the widget to display the show times in the user's local time zone. This stopped a lot of anomolies. Have you noticed that when you add a track to a show, s…

Alex: there are several clocks in the sytem - at least two in mine. Hardware and Unix. It is posible for me to time the system from hardware clock but update the Unix clock from NTP or Hardware Clock or vice versa. Some software maintains its own cl…

Exactly the same. 1 and 2 hour talk radio podcasts with jingles and random music fallback deprogrammedradio.com When I query these things with devs - they point out heavy-users "not complaining" as proof that its only me. These heavy user…

"but there are also occasions where it doesn't do so and the only solution is rebooting the server (having activated something else to feed the stream)" I can confirm that. Before 2.51 came out I reported all this in the bug tracker…

I am glad somebody else said that. I was not believed. Sometimes it seems if you Update the show without changes - it works too.

Start filing bug reports http://dev.sourcefabric.org/secure/Dashboard.jspa or else nothing will happen. They do not usually file bug reports from the forums. Without a bug report it wont get fixed.

Watched Folder Clarification
The media is stored in one table, the show is in another and the content is in another. Media monitor does not update the show content table (which holds times). So, it is the normal behaviour of Airtime. If I knew at the start how bad the scheduler…

I guess I could fix that in my import. But then..... if the smart block recalc'd and shuffled random stuff at play time - as per many requests in here - it would be unnecessay.

Some annoying stuff in Airtime
1. Your point #3 would screw me up.. I cannot have the news or station ID played late or a live feed delayed just because of a fluffy song. It works fine for me as it is. 2 & 3 seem fair enough to me :)

Also, I have found that very occasionally some mp3s just refuse to stream and I get silence. These even pass the AT playability test. These are usually from the same source e.g same podcast series. When I find these I recode them in Audacity or SOX …

I find this happens quite a lot - but in my case in scheduled shows. I was told this was fixed in 2.52. Alas not. To avoid surprises at playout I do this.. Select the day in question in 'Now Playing' from top menu date/time range picker.…

Hack Added! (CRON jobable) Bulk MP3 importer from multi RSS Feeds into appropriate watched folders!
This is an open source hack and it is quite well documented. You could just copy the variable $origfilename into the variable $finishedfilename before the id3 tag rewrite. Then you can be really happy with original downloaded filenames like freddyfo…

Just a note. Some show information is also stored in other tables. It is NOT all in cc_show. Wiping cc_show removes about 30% of it.
