In 2.1 we enforced it so that the database would be UTF-8. It doesn't make sense to be ASCII. We don't actually create any templates, we just use the existing one, which in your case happened to be ASCII.

First time install Airtime not starting
Did you install the debian package (.deb extension) or through a tarball (.tar extension). Were they any other errors during install? Also what's the output of "sudo monit status"

Hi dz0ny, You simply need an account to post bugs to the tracker. As for your problem, your database is in an ASCII char set which is a very old and Airtime (or any modern program) wouldn't work correctly with any audio tracks that use foreign…

Hi Wade, When you tried to add the drive through the WebUI then you are correct that it was a permissions issue. But you could have kept using FAT32, just make sure you mount the drive so that its world readable (or at least so that www-data can rea…

Broadcast as live/Links
"do I have to record my links and then add them into the correct places within the playlist?" Currently you need to do it this way. We realize this isn't ideal and it will be fixed in an upcoming release.

Why does it say "Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS x86_64 " when you mentioned you have Debian Squeeze installed?

Airtime 2.0.3 didn't touch any files related to playout, so the upgrade shouldn't be related. I'm interested in seeing your logs though, perhaps we can see why playout stopped.

Ok I looked at the system. The Zend problem should be gone. For some reason your php include_path was "." instead of ".:/usr/share/php" (edited this in php.ini). Not sure why php can't call "whoami", but if you upg…

airtime-import --watch-add ERROR: "is not a valid directory"
Hi, Currently we require any watched folder to be readable by the webserver whose login is www-data. A quick fix would to put www-data user in the same group as your soundfm user. Type:sudo adduser www-data soundfmfrom the terminal.

Customizing LiquidSoap scripts
Try looking in /usr/lib/airtime/pypo/bin/liquidsoap_scripts/ls_script.liq and ls_lib.liq Note that these files are overwritten on every install/reinstall, so you might want to make sure you keep them safe somewhere else as well.

Airtime database should use the UTF-8 encoding. Why can't you change this, I'm almost certain that each database can have its own encoding, and so having Airtime db as UTF-8 should not affect any other databases you are running on the serv…
