I guess its back to Joomla for me then - as this is a rather difficult situation. I can't use php5.3 and I need some of the functionality of 4.0.2

I am having some real issues with this ... 5.3.x is not an option for me its 5.2.x or 5.4.x what can I do?

The only other php version option I have is:MySQL version:5.0.92-1~ui60+1 PHP version:5.2.17 will this work with 4.0.2 and 3.5.5?

how do I duplicate from 4.0.2 I can't open the folder /include/smarty/libs as its a symlink with no files - where do I get the contents of /include/smarty/libs or do I just ignore that folder?
